Start Here
North American stage rally information is spread across sanctioning bodies, event organizers, forums, Facebook groups and older archives. This hub brings the useful starting points together, with each link’s purpose explained.
- New to rally? Start with ARA Novice Tips or NASA RallySport Getting Started.
- Building a car? Identify your sanctioning body and class, then use the Motorsport Rules & Rulebooks hub.
- Finding an event? Browse Events & Meets and the Calendar / Upcoming events.
- Finding a seat or crew? Use Drivers, Co-Drivers & Crew, then check the event’s competitor instructions.
Sanctioning Bodies
American Rally Association — ARA
ARA runs United States stage rally championships. Start with Competitor Information for licensing and entry, Rules & Bulletins for sporting/technical requirements, and the current schedule for event organizers.
NASA RallySport
NASA RallySport sanctions rally events in the United States. Its Getting Started guide, rules, racing-license information and schedule provide the competitor starting points.
Canadian Association of Rallysport — CARS
CARS sanctions Canadian rally competition, including the Canadian Rally Championship. Use Getting Started, Rules, Competitor Documents for the current rulebook/licensing forms, and the event calendar. Canadian requirements must be checked separately from ARA/NASA rules.
FIA / World Rally Championship — WRC
The FIA governs the World Rally Championship; WRC.com is its official championship information site. Use the FIA WRC regulations directory for sporting and technical documents and the WRC calendar for rallies. Prospective entrants should start with the current sporting regulations and their selected rally’s official competitor documents. This is international championship information, rather than the usual first step into local stage rally.
Rules & Rulebooks
The Subie Forums Motorsport Rules & Rulebooks hub explains where to find rally, hillclimb, Solo and Time Trials documents.
For rally, the official starting points above lead to ARA GCR/RCR/RTR and bulletins, NASA RallySport GRR sections, CARS rules/amendments and FIA WRC sporting/technical regulations.
Before building or entering, verify the current revision, class, technical rules, safety requirements and event supplements. A forum post, an old downloaded PDF or acceptance by another organization does not establish compliance.
Events & Calendars
- Subie Forums: Events & Meets provides permanent event topics; Upcoming events provides calendar browsing.
- ARA: Official schedule, currently the 2026 page. For the next season, follow Schedule and Events from ARA’s website.
- NASA RallySport: Calendar of Events.
- Canada: CRC / regional event calendar.
- WRC: Official calendar.
Follow each rally’s organizer link for registration, supplemental regulations, spectator/volunteer instructions and changes. Calendar listings are a starting point; the organizer’s current notices govern the event details.
Results & Archives
- ARA: Event Results has year and rally selectors, including earlier seasons. ARA Live provides live scoring/tracking. Distinguish live/provisional timing from the organizer’s final published classification.
- NASA RallySport: List of Past Results links results and entry lists by event/year. Some older entries depend on external services.
- WRC: Results & Standings links full event results, championship standings and the season archive. Select the season and event you actually need.
- Canadian history: CARS Competitor Documents includes past winners and lifetime driver/co-driver standings.
These are official source locations. An absent result link is not proof that an event never took place; check the organizer’s archive.
Rally Communities
- Discussion: SpecialStage is a longstanding rally-specific discussion community. Its URL is included as a community reference; current availability could not be verified during this check.
- Subaru rally discussion: Rally General and Drivers, Co-Drivers & Crew.
- Facebook discussion: North American Rally — direct group link pending verification.
- Facebook classifieds: North American Rally FS/FT/WTB — direct group link pending verification.
Discussion communities help with experience and contacts. Classifieds serve buying/selling; neither replaces current official rules. Facebook group names alone are not sufficient to identify the correct group.
Rally Car Building / Technical Resources
- Preparation and safety: Use your organization’s technical rules and amendments before choosing a class, cage, seats, harnesses, fuel system or engine package. Get uncertain plans reviewed by its technical officials before fabrication.
- Factory repair information: Subaru Factory Service Manual archive provides model/year/market manuals. Confirm the manual matches your vehicle; factory repair procedures do not establish rally eligibility.
- Rally preparation guidance: NASA Rally University covers car preparation, logbooks and event operations. Treat older instructional details and prices as background; check current rules and event instructions.
- Technical documentation: CARS Technical Notes and the FIA WRC sporting/technical directory provide official references. Where your class requires homologation documentation, confirm the correct form, extensions and applicability with the sanctioning body.
Codriver / Competitor Resources
- ARA licensing and entry: Competitor Information links its official licensing/entry services and explains event Sportity documents; Novice Tips supplies the first-event checklist.
- NASA licensing and entry: Racing License and How to Sign Up. Follow the event’s registration instructions when its entry system differs.
- Codriving basics: NASA Rally University: Scoring / Codriving introduces timing and codriver topics. Use the current event documents for controls, notes and recce procedures.
- Training: Team O’Neil Co-Driver School covers time cards, route books, controls, recce and stage notes. ARA Learn to Rally links recognized rally schools. Confirm course availability and whether a particular course meets your intended event’s requirements.
Driver and codriver responsibilities, eligibility and required safety equipment depend on the applicable rules. Training is preparation, not automatic permission to enter.
Rally Media / Learning
- Official WRC website — championship coverage and rally features.
- ARA News — domestic rally news and event coverage.
- NASA Rally University — explanations of volunteering, crew work and how rallies operate.
Use these to understand the sport; use regulations and organizer documents for technical or entry decisions.
Subaru-Specific / Related Subie Forums Resources
- Rally General — questions, news and getting started.
- Car Construction, Equipment & Safety — preparation and technical discussion.
- Rally Builds — build journals and development.
- Transmission & Driveline and Subaru Transmission Guide — identification and drivetrain reference hub.
- Subaru Engine Guide — engine-family identification and reference starting points.
- Technical Library — reference index; this rally hub has one canonical topic.
Rally Marketplace
Use Rally Classifieds for rally vehicles, parts/equipment and wanted listings. Keep sales/wanted posts there; use the discussion, technical and build categories for those conversations.
Historical NASIOC / Archived Knowledge
Older Subaru rally knowledge is scattered across NASIOC and other forums. Historical discussions can suggest useful questions, but missing photos, modified cars and obsolete rules can limit their application today.
Valuable older material should become a separately verified modern technical reference when appropriate. This hub does not republish archived posts or treat historical advice as current regulations.
Keeping this useful: Reply with an official replacement when a resource moves. Recheck rules, schedules and organizer notices before acting. The date above records this review; SpecialStage availability and the two Facebook group URLs remain explicitly unverified.
